Taylor County Emergency Squad.INC is a Non-profit 501c3 Organization (Donations Always accepted P.O.Box 161-Grafton,WV 26354). EMS was founded by all volunteers desiring to help others in times of crisis and emergency situations. EMS started in 1961 at Latrobe Street in Grafton. EMS used a hearse as the first ambulance serving the community. EMS receives an Emergency service levy that was started

by Amy Summers and Beth Twigg. EMS now has full time and part time staff, that work around the clock to ensure the highest standard of care is being offered to the community. We currently operate three ambulances that are state certified. They respond to: 911 emergency calls, hospital to hospital transports, non-emergency medical transports, festivals, sporting events, etc.

Grafton City Hospital has been named on the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals for Quality by the National Rural Health Association-the ONLY hospital in WV to receive this distinction in 2026!

If you live in Taylor or Harrison county and need 911 services but the call will not go through please dial 304-626-4900. They are experiencing issues with cellular phones dialing 911 and working diligently to get the issue resolved.

Are you ready to make a difference in your community? The Taylor County Emergency Squad is seeking dedicated and certified EMTs and Paramedics to join our team of first responders.
We are a proud, community-focused EMS provider committed to delivering high-quality Emergency medical services. If you're passionate about helping others and want to work in a supportive, professional environment, we want to hear from you!
