A little bit of our history from the early 70’s! Thanks for the tag Legeros Fire Line!

Morning rescue history. Random finds of the Alamance County Rescue Unit in the early 1970s, from Burlington and Greensboro newspapers.

Top left from the Burlington News Times, about the squad returning to full-time ambulance service yesterday, after having suspending operation for several weeks "during a period of indecision over funds."

Caption: The Alamance Rescue Unit returned to full ambulance service yesterday. Two full-time employees are manning the station, and volunteers provide additional service. Left to right are Lt. Jim Wright, Sgt. Jimmie Bell and Henry Moore, shown here with some of the unit's equipment which was used for seven calls yesterday.

Bottom from the Greensboro Daily News on October 31, 1971, about the squad's proposal that ambulance service in Alamance County be county-operated through their organization. Currently, it was contracted to a private firm owned by George Sidden. And the "ambulance issue flared up in the spring" when county commissioners extended the contract for another year.

Under the the Wednesday night lights this week ACRU members worked on boat operations at Graham Mebane Lake! Members conducted the boat “EVD” course and comfortably with operations of all ACRU boats. These skills are important to maintain and practice often! Big shout out to Graham Recreation and Parks Department for the use of the lake!!

PS. Hey Ashe County Rescue Squad we saw yall rocking boats ops training too!! 👀💪

🚑🐸 Successful “FROG” Transplant Complete! 🐸🚑

ACRU is proud to announce a very rare and highly technical procedure — a full FROG transplant 🛠️

After years of faithful service on our second out rescue, our original “FROG” needed a replacement, and thanks to an outstanding donor match from our friends at Yadkin County Rescue Squad & EMS, Inc. the operation was a success! 💪

The patient is stable… the numbers are glowing… and the crew didn’t even need to call medical control 😎Light tower and all generator electrical restored!

Huge shoutout to Yadkin County Rescue for the assist — proving once again that teamwork in the rescue world saves the day (and occasionally a frog). 🐸
