The awards recognize departments that demonstrate a strong commitment to accident prevention, hazard identification, and maintaining safe and healthy work environments for employees.

🚧 RAILROAD CROSSING CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧

Norfolk Southern and the North Carolina Railroad Company are continuing rail replacement work through the region. As this project progresses, temporary road closures at railroad crossings will occur throughout Alamance County from East to West.

Residents and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes when crossings are closed. Detour signs will be in place per the contractor.

♻️ Recycling Service Update: September 2

Republic Services, the City's contracted recycling provider, has notified us that a portion of Tuesday's recycling route was not completed due to mechanical issues with the collection vehicle.

Republic Services plans to return this morning, Wednesday, September 2, to complete the remaining Tuesday collections before beginning today's regularly scheduled Wednesday route.

Residents in the affected area, shown on the map, are asked to leave their recycling carts at the curb for collection.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as Republic Services works to complete the route.

📣ALERT: Rail Replacement Construction

Rail replacement work is planned for rail crossings in Graham as part of the Carolinian and Piedmont Passenger and Freight Improvements (CAPPFI) project.

This work will replace aging rail infrastructure and support safe, reliable rail service for freight and passenger trains. Some temporary rail crossing closures and detours are expected.

Republic Services, the City's contracted recycling provider, has notified us that a portion of Ward Street near Maple Avenue was not serviced today due to ongoing utility construction.
