Get ready for one of our most fun and quack-tastic events of the year! Join us for Chuck-a-Duck, where every duck tossed helps support both Fort Osage & Grain Valley Bright Futures Programs, providing vital resources and opportunities for those who need them most.

Your participation directly helps create brighter futures in our community...plus, it’s a whole lot of fun!

Event Details: JV/V Girls & Boys Basketball Games
Location: Fort Osage High School
Date: February 6, 2026
Time: 5:30pm & 7:00pm (We will chuck those ducks between the boys and girls varsity games)
Duck Purchase: $5.00 per duck, 3 for $10.00 or 5 for $20.00
Prizes: 50/50 cash prize and Culver's coupons

Bring your friends, bring your family, and come toss a duck for a cause!

All proceeds are split equally between Fort Osage & Grain Valley Bright Futures Programs.

Congratulations to our Bright Futures/Culver’s “Clearing the Path” Scholarship recipients! 🎉

Thanks to the generous support of our Grain Valley Culver’s, 11 students had their Advanced Placement exam fees covered for 16 classes, removing financial barriers and helping them pursue college-level coursework while still in high school.

We’re grateful for this ongoing partnership and excited to offer this opportunity again next year, so stay tuned! 💙

A big delivery is on its way to Kansas City—and it’s all to support families in need! Hy-Vee is teaming up with Hormel, Harvesters - The Community Food Network and local first responders to give away 400 FREE Hormel Cure 81® hams during a drive-thru event on Thursday, December 11 from 3-5 p.m. at the E. 23rd St. Independence Hy-Vee. Hams will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
