On August 11 and 12, the Louisiana Department of Health conducted random testing of the Town of Gramercy’s water system for Naegleria fowleri, commonly known as the “brain-eating amoeba.”

We are pleased to report that all test results were negative.

The state collected samples from four separate locations throughout the Town of Gramercy, and Naegleria fowleri was not detected in any of the samples.

These results confirm that the Town’s drinking water continues to meet the tested safety standards. We remain committed to maintaining a safe, reliable water system and keeping our residents informed
