🚨⚠️ SCAM ALERT – PLEASE READ & SHARE ⚠️🚨

The Granbury Police Department has been made aware of a spam phone call circulating in our area.

📞 Individuals are receiving calls from someone claiming to be with the “Granbury Sheriff’s Office”, stating that you missed jury duty and that there is a warrant issued for your arrest.

🚫 This is NOT legitimate.

Here’s what you need to know:
🔹 There is NO agency called the “Granbury Sheriff’s Office.”
🔹 The Granbury Police Department and the Hood County Sheriff’s Office are separate agencies.
🔹 Law enforcement will NOT call you demanding payment or threatening arrest over the phone for missing jury duty.

⚠️ At this time, it is unclear what the scammers are attempting to gain, but these types of calls often aim to:
💰 Scare individuals into sending money
📲 Obtain personal or financial information

🛑 If you receive one of these calls:
✔️ Do NOT provide any personal information
✔️ Do NOT send money or payment of any kind
✔️ Hang up immediately
✔️ Report the call to your local law enforcement agency

We’re excited to invite you to be part of the 7th Annual Hood County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive! Last year, we reached a record-breaking 126 donors, and with your help, we’re aiming to beat that number this year!

📅 Date: May 13
🕣 Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
📍 Annex 3 (1402 W. Pearl)

Local first responder agencies will compete to see who can bring in the most donors, with the winning agency earning the trophy and bragging rights. Hood County Fire Departments are the current reigning agency, and GPD would like to change that!!

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced that FM 4 in Hood County will be reduced to one lane as crews complete roadway repaving.

📍 Location: FM 4 from Tin Top Highway to Ruff Country Court
🗓 Dates: Tuesday – Friday, March 17–20
⏰ Time: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

🚗 What to Expect:
• Temporary one-lane traffic
• Possible delays in the area
• Active work zones and crews on site

⚠️ Please slow down, follow all posted signs, and drive cautiously through the work zone to help keep workers and other motorists safe.

🚨 COMMUNITY ALERT – STATEWIDE TEST 🚨

The Granbury Police Department wants to make sure our community is informed about an upcoming statewide emergency alert test.

📅 When: Thursday, April 2, 2026
⏰ Time: Between 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM

As part of a coordinated effort with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), Hood County will be testing emergency alert systems, including:

🔊 Outdoor Warning Sirens
📱 Everbridge Mass Notification System

➡️ All alert methods will be activated promptly at 10:00 AM

⚠️ IMPORTANT:
This is ONLY A TEST — no action is required.

📲 You may receive multiple alerts on your phone due to participation from surrounding North Texas jurisdictions.

These tests are critical to ensure systems are working properly and ready to keep our community safe during real emergencies.
