My bill, S.4773, has passed the Senate! This legislation would prevent outsourcing work to any third party during a hiring freeze. When outsourcing work during a hiring freeze, it could result in the permanent displacement of jobs that provide New Yorkers with the means of achieving a middle-class life. This bill preserves these economic opportunities and would allow the work to be done by the State’s unionized workforce.

Homelessness is not a laughing matter and it is important to understand how humanity pertains to everyone.

I’m Gena Bartlett, and I’m running again, for Oswego County Legislator because our community deserves practical leadership that listens and delivers.

As the County Legislator, I will make decisions that directly affect our residents, local businesses, and the overall economy. My responsibilities will include budgeting, resource allocation, policy development, infrastructure planning, and community engagement. I will review and approve county budgets, evaluate funding priorities, and determine how to allocate resources across public safety, health services, and economic development programs. I will also work on shaping policies, overseeing community projects, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used efficiently and transparently.

To make these decisions effectively, I plan to rely on data and decision-support models. I will provide insights into county spending, infrastructure needs, and service utilization, ensuring decisions are transparent and data-driven. These techniques will enable me to maximize the use of limited funds by evaluating multiple scenarios, such as prioritizing road upgrades or expanding broadband access.

Every dollar you contribute helps me reach more voters, print materials, and stand up for the issues that matter most, like transparency, safety, and protecting our tax dollars.

This campaign is powered by everyday people, not political insiders or special interests. Whether it’s $25 or $1000, your support means everything.

Let’s bring common-ground leadership to Oswego County, together.

This month, I was appointed to two committees that play an important role in county services, public accountability, and resident well-being:

Government, Courts & Consumer Affairs Committee, which oversees county legal functions, elections, public defender services, and several key offices that support the day-to-day operation of county government.

Health Committee, which oversees the Oswego County Health Department and county health-related services.

Although these are my official committee assignments, I also attended several other committee meetings this month to stay informed and engaged across a wide range of county issues.

I also want to be transparent with District 24: proposals brought forward by the Democratic caucus this month (including a No Collusion Policy and a meeting time change intended to better serve the public) did not pass, despite being presented in good faith and with the intent of improving accountability and accessibility in county government.

As always, I encourage residents to review the full agendas and meeting minutes, which are publicly available on the Oswego County Legislature website.
