Reminder! Upcoming Hazardous Waste Collection Day is Saturday, June 13, 2026.

Upcoming Hazardous Waste Collection Day is Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The collection is taking place at Simsbury Public Works, located at 66 Town Forest Road, Simsbury, CT. This collection is open to residents of Simsbury, Avon, Farmington, Canton, Suffield, and Granby. Proof of residency will be required.

Personal document shredding will be available from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM or until the truck is full. There is a two box limit per resident. Latex and oil paint is accepted at the Granby Transfer Station during regular hours of operation.

The Granby Police Department recently celebrated the outstanding service and dedication of its officers (both active and retired), dispatchers, and civilian staff during a special awards ceremony. Numerous members of the department were recognized for their professionalism, commitment to public safety, teamwork, and contributions to the community. The event highlighted the hard work and sacrifices made each day by those who serve and support the residents of Granby.

The Town of Granby would like the public to be aware of a police training event taking place at the Kearns School. The West Hartford SWAT Team will be training on Wednesday 6/10 and Thursday 6/11 at Kearns. They will have signage informing the public in the area.

June is Dog License Month!
The 2026 Dog Licensing year will start on June 1st, 2026. If your pup has a 2025 dog license tag issued between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, please be informed that your license will expire on June 30, 2026.

To ensure compliance with dog licensing statutes, you must renew the Dog License for the upcoming Dog License year, spanning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Please ensure that your renewal is completed promptly by June 30, 2026, to avoid late fees.

For new registrations, please complete the 2026 Dog New Dog License Application (one form per household/owner). For renewals, please complete the 2026 Dog Renewal License Application (one form per household/owner). Find those forms at: granby-ct.gov/266/Dog-Licenses

Reminder to Residents: Town Sewer Use Fees are Due!

Residents hooked up to the Town’s sewer lines are responsible for annual Sewer Use fees that become due and payable as of June 1, 2026, and can be paid up through July 1, 2026 without interest or penalty. These bills will be mailed in the last week of May 2026 and can only be paid by cash or check.

If payment is not made on or before July 1, 2026, each bill becomes subject to interest following the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut.
