Howdy gang! It is the last week of school and that means this is our last week of art challenges. We will take a break until the first of June as we evaluate the current situation regarding quarantine and make decisions about the availability of classes going forward.

THIS WEEK'S ART CHALLENGES
5/18 - 5/22

MONDAY
Draw a griffin.

TUESDAY
Draw a person and carefully cut out their clothes. Hold your person in front of different colors and textures to create different outfits for them. Take photos of your favorite outfits!

WEDNESDAY
Draw a self-portrait with your non-dominant hand.

THURSDAY
Draw a sunset.

FRIDAY
Create a quarantine art gallery in your home! Google art galleries for ideas on how to display your art.

WEEKEND BONUS
Enjoy an animated movie of your choice. :)

MONDAY
Draw a floating island.

TUESDAY
Blue!
Paint, draw, or color something blue!

WEDNESDAY
Draw a famous painting in your style.

THURSDAY
Draw some "veggie dogs". (A cross between a dog and a vegetable. Example: a pumpkin dog, a tomato dog, a celery dog, a jalapeno dog, etc.)

FRIDAY
Draw a leaf bug or orchid mantis. (For extra cute google baby orchid mantis!)

WEEKEND BONUS
John James Audubon was an artist and explorer that set out to make life-sized paintings of every bird species in America. Pretend you are an explorer and artist like John James Audubon. Pick a place you would like to explore anywhere in the world then research the plants and animals there. Make one life-size drawing each of one plant and one animal from the place you are exploring.

*To make things simpler I'm going to begin giving a whole week's worth of challenges at a time.

MONDAY
Draw a map of your own personal ideal island!
TUESDAY
Purple!
Paint, draw, or color something purple!
WEDNESDAY
You are going on a quest. Fill a sheet of paper or page in your sketchbook with the things you take with you.
THURSDAY
Have someone else fill a page with randomly shaped blobs for you. Turn them into cats.
FRIDAY
Pause one of your favorite movies or video games on a part showing the background and draw a landscape from it.
WEEKEND BONUS
Look up local animal shelters or rescues and find an adoptable dog or cat you would like to draw.
