📢 Important Information for Residents Impacted by the July Storm

The Grand Chute Fire Department has shared helpful information about FEMA assistance and local Disaster Recovery Centers for those affected by the storm.

Outagamie County CERT volunteers will also be distributing informational flyers in some of the hardest-hit neighborhoods.

If you were impacted by the storm, please review the available resources and assistance options. The deadline to apply for FEMA Individual Assistance is December 7, 2026.

🔎 Utilities Out and About!
Our Utilities crew is out today televising storm sewer pipes to get a closer look at the condition of our underground stormwater system!
📹 Why is this important? Storm sewer televising allows crews to inspect the inside of pipes and identify potential issues such as cracks, blockages, root intrusion, and other damage. Catching these issues early helps the Town plan maintenance, prioritize repairs, and keep stormwater flowing where it should.
A lot of important work happens underground that we don't always see! Thank you to our Utilities crew for all you do to keep things running smoothly and help maintain our community's infrastructure. We appreciate you! 👏

FEMA provides disaster assistance to eligible individuals and households to help with recovery after a disaster.

Did you know that Grand Chute Public Works helps keep the community running smoothly in ways you might not even notice? From maintaining local roads and keeping stormwater systems functioning to maintaining garbage and recycling bins, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes to keep Grand Chute clean, safe, and moving!

🌧️ Did you know? Grand Chute maintains more than 86 miles of storm sewer, along with nearly 2,000 manholes and 2,800 catch basins! These systems help manage rainwater and reduce flooding risks throughout the community

Beautiful weather ahead = the perfect time to get those stormwater BMP inspections done! 🌤️💧
Take a few minutes to check your BMP, look for any maintenance needs, and submit your inspection to the Town by December 31, 2026.

As fall arrives and the leaves begin to drop, please remember that leaves should never be dumped or blown into streams, ditches, or waterways. 🌿💧

💧 Happy Stormwater Week!! 💧

This week, our crew celebrated by cleaning up a stormwater pond!

Removing undesirable trees and woody vegetation from stormwater ponds is an important part of regular maintenance. Keeping excessive woody growth under control helps protect the pond banks and embankment, allows the pond to function as designed, and makes it easier to inspect and maintain.

Trees can also drop leaves and other organic material into the pond, which can contribute to sediment and debris accumulation over time and reduce the available storage capacity of the pond.

A big THANK YOU to our crew for their hard work helping keep our stormwater infrastructure functioning properly!

Let's celebrate clean water! September 19-27, 2026 is Wisconsin Stormwater Week. This is a great opportunity to think about what we can do at home and at work to reduce pollution runoff and help keep our lakes and rivers clean.

Remember, if oil, leaves, and debris are on the street, chances are high they will end up in the storm drain.

The public is invited to learn more about the importance of stormwater awareness by attending three upcoming webinars led by experts in the stormwater management field.
