Back-to-school time is here! The Grand Chute Police Department is sharing some great safety reminders to help students, families and drivers start the school year off safely. Take a look and help us spread the word! 🚸

As students prepare to head back to school on September 1, drivers should prepare too.

The return to school means more children walking and biking, more frequent school bus stops, and increased traffic around schools in the morning and afternoon.

As you travel through our community:

• Slow down and obey posted speed limits.
• Stay alert and eliminate distractions.
• Watch carefully for children and pedestrians, especially near schools and crosswalks.
• Be prepared for frequent stops and delays.
• Give yourself extra time for your commute.

Children can be unpredictable, and they may not always see or anticipate approaching traffic.

A few extra minutes and a little extra attention can help ensure everyone gets to and from school safely.
