Grand coulee Fire responded to a report of a wild fire in the area around SR 174 and Powell Road. Seeking immediate assistance from Reclamation Fire and Lincoln County District 7 & 8, crews were able to keep the perimeter to around 100 by 250 feet in size. Thank you to our mutual aid responders for the quick assistance and hard work in halting the forward progression! It takes a village! Fire season has arrived! Stay safe out there and never hesitate to call for your local area firefighters for assistance!

The Grand Coulee area welcomes two Paramedics to this area, as Mike Shear and Merlee Liberty completed all requirements and were “pinned” as Paramedics this afternoon! GCV Fire & EMS is beyond proud of the work you two have persevered through to get to this finish line!

The guidance you both have been instilled with shines through in your teaching to the area EMTs and we are all thrilled and honored to have been a part of this journey with you. The future for you both is bright! Congratulations!!!!

Grand Coulee Fire would like to recognize our very own firefighters, Aj and Cassidy, on graduation from high school! These two joined our department as junior firefighter with a flame for learning everything there is to know about firefighting and then some! Each has also transitioned from junior membership to the active roster this year and both still actively contribute to the community they serve by continuing to train and respond! Job well done girls, it has been, and will continue to be, an honor to share in your quest for knowledge of the firefighting world!

Yesterday was recognition day! i want to personally thank all the EMS volunteers in the Grand Coulee Dam area. I was going to highlight a couple of the very dedicated EMTs, but they don' t like the attention. I'm just going to say thanks to those that get up and go almost anytime leaving whatever they may be doing, walking George, welding something for somebody else, working on a firetruck, doing something with their kids, cooking your wife breakfast. They know who they are.
If you live here, you know them too!

We train under as similar as we can get for circumstances found on an actual fire! Simulated outside fire training tonight with the new fleet, getting used to operations on the fireground, taking command, utilizing tools, selecting lines, spraying water, putting in a wet line, flanking the fire, among other things. Special shoutout to our guests tonight!
