Last night, the Park District recognized Tim Skarperud, President of the Grand Forks Board of Park Commissioners, at his last board meeting of his final term. Tim has served on the Park Board since 2010, and we share our deepest gratitude for his dedication to our community.

For 16 years, Tim played a key role in shaping and strengthening our park system. His leadership helped advance major projects and improvements across the community, from Choice Health & Fitness and the ICON Sports Center to Veterans Memorial Park, the Altru Sports Complex, and countless facility and park enhancements. His impact is also seen in expanded recreational opportunities, including new playgrounds, court and field upgrades, and spaces that bring people together.

Tim’s commitment has left a lasting mark on our parks, programs, and community.

Thank you, Tim, for your steady leadership, passion, and years of service. Your legacy will be enjoyed for generations to come!

Softball Update (6/3/26): Youth Softball is still on as scheduled despite inclement weather. We encourage all participants to attend today, as registration and check-in will proceed regardless of conditions. Thank you!

Outdoor Pool Update: Please note that due to maintenance issues, Riverside Pool will now be opening for the season on June 8th.

Elks Pool is still set to open for the season tomorrow (June 3rd).
