Sometimes the most powerful form of support is simply having someone who will listen. The Friendship Bench is a peer support program where trained volunteers offer compassionate, nonjudgmental conversation for anyone in the community.
Connection matters. Listening matters. Community matters. Share this post to help spread awareness about peer support.

Being brave does not mean having no fear. It means choosing to move forward with honesty, compassion, and courage even when things feel difficult. At Momentum Center, we see bravery every day in the people who show up, share their stories, support others, and continue growing.

The Mental Health Millage helps provide critical services and support for individuals and families throughout our community. Momentum Center is one of many organizations that receives funding through this millage, helping us continue creating spaces for connection, belonging, and peer support. As the August 4 ballot approaches, we encourage our community to learn more about the impact of this funding.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that invests in mental health. 💙
Thanks to the Mental Health Millage, organizations like ours can provide critical support, resources, and connection to those who need them most—regardless of ability to pay.

Together, we’re helping build a stronger, healthier community for everyone.

Thanks to the continued support of our community, the Mental Health Millage has helped more than 21,850 people access the care, resources, and supports they need to thrive.
From crisis services and prevention programs to treatment, recovery, and community-based supports, millage funding ensures residents get help when they need it; no matter their insurance status or ability to pay.
This local investment strengthens our entire county, supports those who might otherwise fall through the cracks, and keeps the community in Community Mental Health.

June’s value theme is Taking Brave Action. Bravery does not always look loud or dramatic. Sometimes it means asking for help, showing up for someone else, trying something new, or taking the next small step forward. This month, we are encouraging our community to practice brave action in everyday moments. What is one brave action you want to take this month? Please share your brave action in the comments.

There is something more we are all moving toward. A community where people are fully seen, fully valued, and fully themselves. We may not always know how to get there, but we are on the way. Stay connected with us.
