May 1, 2026 is the deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration before the May 12th Primary Election. For Hall County voters, registration must be done in person at the Election Office at 200 S. Sycamore, Suite 8 in Grand Island. We will be open until 6:00pm on Friday, May 1st for voter registration.

The last voter registration deadline for the 2026 Nebraska primary election is this Friday, May 1.

Today (Monday, April 27, 2026) is the last day to register/update your voter registration for the May 12th Statewide Primary Election by the following methods:
*Online at www.NE.gov/go/NeReg2Vote
*At the DMV, DHHS, or Department of Education
*Postmark deadline for mailed-in voter registrations
*By 6:00 pm through a Deputy Registrar

The deadline to register/update your voter registration in person at our office is Friday, May 1st at 6:00pm.

Hall County voters can pick up early ballots or vote early in person at the Election Office in the Hall County Administration Building (200 S. Sycamore St, Suite 8, in Grand Island). The Election Office is open for early voting on weekdays from 8:30am-4:30pm through May 11, 2026.

Today, April 13, is the first day a Nebraska voter can cast their ballot in the 2026 statewide primary election in person at their local county election office.

Almost 1,600 early voting ballots were mailed to Hall County voters on April 6, 2026, the first day allowed by Nebraska law. Voters who requested a by-mail early voting ballot may check the status online at https://www.votercheck.necvr.ne.gov/voterview/

Hall County Election Commission staff will continue to process applications and ballots will be mailed every weekday through May 1, 2026. The deadline to apply for a by-mail early voting ballot is Friday, May 1, 2026 at 6:00pm.
