It is with much consideration and yet still mixed emotions that Laurie and I are making this statement. Due to our “new” situation of being empty nesters, and the restructuring of Laurie’s Daycare. This will not allow Laurie to be a full-time manager at Capital Heights pool after this year. I also will be taking a step back from the pool and will need some new helpers to take the lead in getting the pool prepped and ready for the new pool season and winterizing it at the end of the season. (Don’t worry, I have it all written down. If I can do it, so can you!) :) I am willing to still help, but I just can’t do it by myself anymore.
Without new help/helpers, there would not be any swimming lessons available in June and potentially the pool wouldn’t open at all. This is something that we both don’t want to happen, but potentially could if nobody decides to step up and help run the pool. There is a need for new families and leaders who would be willing to take on these responsibilities. Just like the old saying, “Many hands make light work” so please reach out with whatever level of help that you can provide. It will be needed now more than ever.
Please understand that both Laurie and I aren’t just leaving, we want to help mentor, demonstrate, and teach new people how to manage/prepare the pool for each season. Both Laurie and I have a deep love for Capital Height’s Pool and we want to see it keep on providing a safe and fun environment for our community’s children/families. If you are interested in helping with the management portion of the pool or the maintenance of the pool, please contact Laurie or me through Messenger.
