What a night of celebration, inspiration and community. ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the GIAEDC and Chamber Annual Meeting at Boulder Flatts Wednesday, and a big shoutout to our generous sponsors who helped make it all possible.

President Mary Berlie shared a powerful update on 2025 so far and gave a look at what’s ahead as the Chamber and EDC come together to build a stronger, more unified voice for our community. We were also proud to recognize EDC Board Chair Jerry Heidelk and Chamber Board Chair Justin Pfenning for their outstanding leadership in 2024.

A huge thank-you to Michelle Rathman and JT Martin for sharing your insight during our fireside-style podcast conversation on the power and potential of rural communities. And thank you to Board Chair Will Armstrong for leading the conversation with intention and vision.

The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce is turning the page on a meaningful chapter. After years of serving as our office, our iconic building is now searching for new owners to invest in the space. The building has been far more than four walls—it’s been a place where ideas took root, partnerships were built, and momentum was created. We’re honored to welcome Michelle Rathman, nationally recognized rural advocate and host of the Rural Impact Podcast, as one of our live podcast speakers for this year’s GIAEDC Annual Meeting!

Michelle has spent over 25 years working with rural communities across the country—helping leaders, changemakers, and everyday citizens find solutions, tell their stories, and build stronger futures. The Grand Island Area Economic Development Corporation (GIAEDC) and the Grand Island Area Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce the honorees of the 2025 Annual Meeting. This annual celebration recognizes outstanding leadership, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the Grand Island community. This year marks the first time GIAEDC and the Chamber are hosting the Annual Meeting together, a significant milestone on the path to partnership.

The 2025 Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Boulder Flatts and will bring together community and business leaders for an evening of recognition, inspiration and networking. The event will feature a keynote conversation focused on rural development and supporting the community with Michelle Rathman, host of The Rural Impact Podcast, and JT Martin, founder of Cornbelt Media.

This year’s award recipients are:
Business of the Year: Central Nebraska Regional Airport
Distinguished Service Award: Roger Bullington, Chief Development

“We are thrilled to recognize two pillars of our community whose work and impact truly embody the spirit of Grand Island,” said Mary Berlie, President of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce & GIAEDC. “These honors reflect not only achievement but also the values of collaboration and progress that define our region.”
