🚑 Friday Fire Fact 🚑

When first responders arrive during a medical emergency, you can still be helpful.

Be prepared to share:
✅ The patient's medical conditions
✅ Current medications
✅ Allergies
✅ Emergency contact information
✅ What happened and when symptoms began

Having this information readily available can help firefighters, EMTs and paramedics provide faster, more effective care when it matters most.

Thank you Grand Island 🙌

This afternoon, we’re helping supply Union Pacific’s Big Boy locomotive with more than 70,000 gallons of water to help it on its way.

Friday Fire Fact 🚒🔥

Space heaters need space — and their own outlet.

Plugging portable heaters into extension cords or power strips can overload the system and increase the risk of fire. Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet and keep anything flammable at least three feet away.

Friday Fire Fact 🚒🦃

Turkey fryers can turn dangerous fast if oil overheats or the fryer tips over. Always use fryers outdoors on a flat surface, keep them away from homes and never put a frozen turkey into hot oil.

A few extra precautions can help keep your feasting from going up in flames. 🔥👨‍🚒

Friday Fire Fact 🚒🍳

A grease fire can spread fast, but knowing what NOT to do is just as important as knowing what to do.

If a grease fire starts in a pan:
🔥 Turn off the heat if it’s safe to do so
🔥 Cover the pan with a lid or baking sheet
🔥 Use baking soda or a fire extinguisher if needed

🚫 NEVER pour water on a grease fire. Water can cause the burning grease to explode and spread flames instantly.

If the fire grows or you feel unsafe, get out and call 911 immediately.

Friday Fire Fact 🚒

If you see smoke coming from a neighbor’s home, don’t assume someone else has already called 911. Quick action can give firefighters a faster response time and may help protect lives and property.

When in doubt, make the call and stay put. Smoke usually means something isn’t right. 🔥📞
