HUNGER ACTION MONTH | SEPTEMBER 💚

September is Hunger Action Month—a time to come together as a community to raise awareness about hunger, take action, and make sure our neighbors have access to nutritious food.

This September, there are so many ways to take action right here in the Grand Valley. Whether you donate food, volunteer your time, support local agriculture, attend an event, share resources, or simply learn more about hunger in our community—every action matters.

Throughout the month, the Community Food Bank of Grand Junction will be out in the community with opportunities to get involved, including:

🍎 Turning available ingredients into nutritious inspiration!

Shiloh, our Culinary & Nutrition Enrichment Coordinator, creates simple, delicious recipes using ingredients available in our client-choice pantry. She brings samples onsite so our neighbors can taste each dish, take home the recipe card, and feel confident recreating it in their own kitchens. 😊

This is one of the beautiful ways our pantry programs connect with the work happening at the 7th St Community Cafe—bringing food access, nutrition education, and creativity together.

This year, the Community Food Bank is honored to partner with 150 Tables Across Colorado, a statewide initiative celebrating Colorado's 150th anniversary by bringing people together around the table. Longer Tables

Our Harvest Farm Dinner Celebration is one of the featured tables, joining communities across the state in recognizing the power of food to connect neighbors, celebrate local agriculture, and strengthen the places we call home.

On Thursday, October 1, we'll gather beneath the orchard skies at Bella Bolettino Organic Farms in Palisade for an unforgettable evening featuring:

🍸 Cocktail Hour with Melrose Spirits Co.
🥕 Farm-fresh ingredients from Honey Rock Landing and other local growers
🍷 Wine pairings by Carboy Winery
