Last fall, our community garden was devastated — but our community rallied in the most incredible way. 💚

Because of your support, helping hands, and generosity, the garden is officially restored and back in action. New garden beds are built, filled, and ready for planting, enrichment programming, and future harvests to be shared with our community. 🌱

This space is more than a garden — it’s hope, connection, learning, and proof that beautiful things can grow again after hardship.

To everyone who helped rebuild: thank you. We can’t wait to watch this garden flourish together. 🌻

Join the Community Food Bank of Grand Junction for STAMP OUT HUNGER!

LEAVE Items out THIS SATURDAY May 9th !!!

Saturday, May 9th marks the 33rd anniversary of one of America’s greatest days of giving—the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Every day, letter carriers walk our neighborhoods and see a reality many don’t: too many families are facing hunger. That’s why, on the second Saturday in May, they come together to make a difference—collecting non-perishable food donations right from your mailbox to support local pantries here in Grand Junction.

Over the past 30+ years, this incredible effort has collected more than 1.9 billion pounds of food nationwide. And the need is still urgent—millions of Americans, including children and seniors, don’t know where their next meal is coming from.

This time of year is especially critical. After the holidays, donations drop, and by spring and summer, many food banks are running low—just as school meal programs pause.

How to help is simple:🛍️ Fill a bag with non-perishable food📬 Leave it by your mailbox on Saturday, May 9, 2026📦 Your letter carrier will take care of the rest

Together, we can help ensure no neighbor goes hungry. Join us in supporting this powerful day of giving.

What does volunteering really look like?
It looks like early mornings and full hands.
It looks like teamwork, laughter, and purpose.

Our volunteers:
🥕 Rescue and sort thousands of pounds of food from local stores, restaurants, and farms

📦 Pack emergency food bags and prepare deliveries for neighbors who can’t make it in

🚗 Deliver food directly to doorsteps across our community

🖥️ Answer phones, guide clients, and offer support when it’s needed most

🛒 Walk alongside families on service days—helping them shop and find what they need

🥬 Chop, prep, dehydrate, and preserve fresh food at the 7th St Community Cafe to ensure nothing goes to waste

🧹 Keep our warehouse organized, stocked, and ready for the work ahead

Every role matters. Every task adds up.
This is what community looks like in action.
And it’s all powered by volunteers.
