Why is stormwater management important?

Stormwater runoff from our streets, driveways, and parking lots flows directly into our rivers and streams without being filtered or treated.

By keeping fertilizers, chemicals, and pet waste out of waterways and storm drains, we help prevent harmful algae growth, improve water quality, and preserve the oxygen that fish and other aquatic life need to thrive.
