This draft Plan was created to help the Township maximize its eligibility for grant funding. Many grants — including those offered by the Michigan DNR — require a cost share. In some cases, that cost share could come from a millage increase, but it doesn’t have to. That’s why the survey includes a question about how the Township should approach funding any required cost share.

One way to understand cost share is to think of it like asking a teenager to contribute toward their first car — it demonstrates commitment and shared responsibility for the new asset.

Thank you for reviewing the draft Plan and completing the survey. Your voice matters.
