We had a great turnout last night in Meeker. Great to see our partnership getting traction with such a diverse local group of professionals and community servants. Thanks to Colorado Parks and Wildlife folks for their attendance and support, and folks from U.S. Forest Service - White River National Forest and Bureau of Land Management WRFO for technical advice and support.
Also big thanks to the Town Meeker for hosting us in your space. Stay tuned for dates on May's meeting in Town of Rangely, Colorado.

NWCO Alliance facilitators Jon Miller and Kari Brennan presented at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Summit meetings, held in both Craig and Meeker. This provided an excellent opportunity to engage with local agencies, stakeholders, and state leaders, updating them on the organization's activities and future plans.

On Friday, Feb. 27, the White River Field Office with the Bureau of Land Management is asking for volunteers to help re-seed part of the landscape damaged by the Lee Fire last summer. This is in Rio Blanco County.

More than 4,000 pounds of seed needs to be spread across 525 acres of habitat to help stabilize soils, restore native plants, and support wildlife recovery.

Partners joining BLM include Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Rio Blanco County, Mule Deer Foundation, White River Alliance, and White River Conservation District. Dress warmly and bring water and food for the day. The event depends on the weather.

For more information, please contact event coordinator BLM Colorado Wildlife Biologist Kristin Ross at [email protected] or 970-706-7464.
