It is located in Eaton County with a small portion in Clinton County, Michigan just outside of Lansing along the Grand River. An estimated 7,783 people live in Grand Ledge. The government is comprised of the Mayor and seven Council members representing the City’s three wards.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Grand Ledge City Hall will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in honor of Labor Day.

City Hall will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

🌩️ Severe Weather Update for Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 – Eaton County

Strong to severe storms are expected to increase this afternoon and move through the area by approximately 6 PM.

⚠️ Main concerns:

Damaging winds up to 60 mph
Large hail
Locally heavy rainfall
Minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas

Additional thunderstorms are also possible overnight tonight.

Please keep an eye on changing weather conditions this afternoon, have multiple ways to receive alerts and warnings, and be prepared to take action if severe weather approaches your area.

Tonight's FINAL Community Input Session, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, will start at 6:00 PM and last until 7:00 PM under the new pavilion in Jaycee Park, 525 E. River Street.

The Grand Ledge Police Department, in cooperation with the Grand Ledge Public Schools and the City of Grand Ledge, has mapped out the designated Safe Routes to School for the 2026-2027 school year.

Please note the designated crossing guards within the commonly used routes for students who walk or ride their bikes to school. For more information, please visit https://www.cityofgrandledge.com/378/Safe-Routes-to-School.

Grand Ledge Public Schools and St. Michael Catholic School will both begin classes on Tuesday, August 25th.

All vehicles and pedestrians are encouraged to use extra caution, especially before the school day begins and after it ends.

PUBLIC NOTICE: Today is Election Day - Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

The Primary Election is being held today, Tuesday, August 4, 2026, with all City of Grand Ledge precincts voting at the Sawdon Administration Building, 220 Lamson Street, Grand Ledge. Polls will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

New voters can register to vote, AND voters can drop off absentee ballots on Election Day at the Clerk's Office, City Hall, 310 Greenwood Street, Grand Ledge, MI 48837. On Election Day, the Clerk's Office will be open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
