A community-led project near you just received funding 💛

This spring, 88 organizations across northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin were awarded grants to support work like youth programs, food access, the arts, housing, and community connection.

A significant portion of this funding was guided by our regional affiliate community funds:
• Cook County Community Fund — $50,235 awarded
• Eveleth Community Foundation — $27,348 awarded
• South Shore Community Fund — $180,174 awarded
• Two Harbors Area Fund — $92,966 awarded

These decisions weren’t made somewhere far away. They were made by local volunteers who live in these communities and understand what’s needed most.

This is our vision, and we are more committed to this vision now than ever.

We are deeply concerned by actions that threaten the safety, dignity, and sense of belonging of immigrant communities in Minnesota. Fear and intimidation have no place in a healthy community. Our region is stronger because of the people who call it home across cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.

We remain committed to supporting efforts that foster belonging, protect human rights, and strengthen the social fabric of our region. At Boreal Waters, we will continue to listen, to learn, and to partner with community leaders and organizations working toward a future where we can all thrive—together.
