Want real certifications, real skills, and real impact in your community?

The Grand Mound Volunteer Fire Department is seeking motivated community members to join our Fire & EMS team. No experience needed — we provide the training.

🔥 Interested in Fire?
Earn certifications and training in:
• Firefighter I
• Firefighter II
• Hazardous Materials Operations
• Pumper / Driver Operations
• CPR
• Stop the Bleed
• Narcan administration

🚑 Interested in EMS?
Get certified as an:
• Emergency Medical Responder
• Emergency Medical Technician

💡 Already a Registered Nurse?
No additional EMS classes required. Iowa recognizes nurse exceptions under our Medical Director’s license, allowing you to serve on our EMS team without completing EMR or EMT coursework.

Want both? You can do both.

We proudly serve the City of Grand Mound and surrounding areas, responding to medical calls, vehicle accidents, structure fires, grass fires, and community events. We are 100% volunteer and 25 members strong.

Our community continues to amaze us.

Thanks to the generosity of so many individuals, families, and businesses, we have raised $377,941 toward our $800,000 goal to expand our original 1955 Grand Mound Volunteer Fire Station.

Every little bit truly helps, and each donation brings us one step closer to building a facility that will better serve and protect our community for years to come.

• If you’re deep-frying a turkey, do it outside and far away from buildings.

• Check smoke alarms before the busy cooking begins.
