Garner Fine Arts Academy "ESTABLISHING AN ARTS-RICH, COURAGEOUS COMMUNITY"

We believe in creating a high performing, courageous community for everyone – no matter their differences.

We believe in providing an intentionally arts-rich environment. GPISD personnel maintain the social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, X [Twitter], LinkedIn, and YouTube) for this campus. We make every effort to inform the community of events and/or important information occurring at our campus while most importantly, promoting student achievement as well as accomplishments made by campus staff. An

y statement or comment posted must ensure that student achievement, academic growth, innovation, and equity to all are maintained across all District/campus social media platforms. Comments made on any campus post are solely the opinions of the users who post them. We welcome and encourage responses to social media posts as long as they adhere to these guidelines. GPISD social media personnel reserve the right to remove any comment or post that…
Is degrading or attacks the character of a student or a staff member
Includes inappropriate topics, cursing, or abusive language
Is threatening in any manner to a student, staff member, campus, or GPISD
Promotes the use of any illegal activity, drugs, alcohol, or other controlled substances
Promotes a personal business that is not associated with GPISD
Contains information that could cause a disruption to the school environment
Violates any copyright or fair use laws; no plagiarism - give proper credit for others’ work
Violates the privacy of GPISD students and/or staff
Violates the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

Excellence. Commitment. Family. These are the words that have described Garner Elementary from the day the doors opened in 1987. Along with expansive retail development of the area south of Interstate 20 came growth and change for these neighborhoods. Garner has focused on growing and changing while meeting the diverse needs of a changing community. In the 2011-2012 school year, our name will change to the Garner Fine Arts Academy. We are excited to bring about this change and include the science of learning through artistic engagement to our students. Our mascot, the All Star, and our school colors red, white, and blue remind us we are bound by a common goal: meeting the needs of all families in our community with respect and a passion for success.

You may be thinking, “Why should I fill out the Free and Reduced Price Meals application?” You could be eligible for many great benefits and resources for your child. Grand Prairie ISD would like to dispel another myth about free and reduced-price meals. Hear what GPISD students have to say about the Free and Reduced Price meal application.

🚨 As a reminder, this application must be renewed every school year, or benefits will stop after 30 days of the school year. Also, students not participating in the free and reduced-price meal program will be required to pay for meals.
We encourage all GPISD families to submit an application even if you think you may not qualify. To apply now and/or check the status of your application, visit http://www.gpisd.org/freemeals. If you have any questions 🙋‍♀️, please don’t hesitate to contact the Child Nutrition Department at (972) 343-4410.
