Professionalism, pride, involvement and community spirit - these may be empty words to some, but to ASA members, they are a promise. A promise that subcontractors can pull together to improve their businesses while they improve the community they serve. Founded in 1966 so subcontractors could have a place to turn in an industry that was generally hostile to their needs, ASA has become a course of leadership and influence for the Construction Industry. There is so much to gain, if we work together. You can exercise your rights, improve your business and improve your community - and you can do it in three easy steps: +attend the monthly chapter membership meetings and seminars. +volunteer for an ASA Committee. +read ASA publications. Monthly meetings feature informative speakers who can help you improve your method of doing business. The Business Practices Interchange (BPI) sessions will provide you with useful and complete information to help you make wise business decisions. To help guide the industry's future while giving something back to your business community, volunteer for an ASA committee. Through a committee you can help shape legislation, improve relations with other members on the construction team, or assist in charitable projects for your community. It's easy and takes only a few hours a month. ASA's educational information is the best in the industry. Your business cannot afford to be outside ASA's inner circle of subcontracting expertise, which can help you find fair subcontracts, get paid promptly and market your services more effectively. Contact your chapter director to find out how you can get more out of your membership. Supporting ASA is supporting your business and industry. Pass the word...ASA MEANS BUSINESS.

ASA COVID-19 GUBERNATORIAL STATEMENT ON KEEPING CONSTRUCTION AN ESSENTIAL SERVICE
An increasing amount of states including Texas are instituting mandatory closures of businesses that they deem as "non-essential or non- life-sustaining." In several states, including Pennsylvania and California, the construction industry has been included in order's from their governor's to stop work. As our state and local governments begin to make these decisions, please see the attached model language that may be of assistance to you to actively defend the construction industry from being listed as non-essential. ASA National offers this language as a tool to combat the inclusion of our industry in any forthcoming state orders to close businesses.

Governors are beginning to issue blanket shutdowns of operations without an exemption for personnel who support construction activities. The impact of halting construction activities during this crisis will have a severe effect on infrastructure needs in every state.

The ASA urges our members to send our association's statement on this important issue to your governors to urge them to keep construction an essential service.

Please take action today by sending our ASA Gubernatorial Statement to your Governor!

We lost a friend and a passionate ASA advocate. You will be missed Chip! Prayers for your family.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we say goodbye to an incredible leader, a great friend, and most importantly dearly loved member of the F.L. Crane family.
Chip Mabus, a 21 year employee of F.L. Crane and Sons, joined his Father in Heaven this past Saturday morning.
It has been said that the mark of a great leader is by those they leave behind. Chip left behind a top notch team in the Fulton branch of whom he was very proud.
More importantly, he left behind 3 wonderful children who he praised constantly.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, as they deal with the unimaginable.
You will forever be missed Chip!
- Johnny, Chip, Ty, Cody and the entire F.L.Crane & Sons family.

ASA Members and Construction Industry Friends, please consider donating to these three families as their lives are forever changed. Your support is sincerely appreciated.

Go-Fund-Me Set-up for Walker Employees and their Families in Time of Need:

As many of you know, there was an incident at a work site in Irving, Texas that has impacted three members of the Walker Engineering, Walker Industrial and Comfort Systems USA family. Tragically, one of the employees (Hernan Murillo) lost his life. Two other employees (Francisco Salazar Contreras and Jose Javier) suffered serious injuries requiring hospitalization. The two injured employees are currently being treated at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. We are relieved to announce that the condition of both employees is stable and improving, but they both continue to be closely monitored.

We have been in contact with all of the families and will continue to offer our support as they move through this tragic event. Many people (both inside and outside our organization) have asked how they can help. We have set up Go Fund Me accounts for the three impacted individuals/families. Please see the links to the three Go Fund Me accounts below. Any help you can give these individuals/families is sincerely appreciated.
