This weekend, service in Grand Prairie looked like groceries loaded into trunks, school supplies placed in children’s hands, and neighbors taking time to check their health.

I was grateful to join the RCCG House on the Rock family and community volunteers for a day focused on meeting real needs. Together, we distributed food, helped families prepare for the school year, connected residents with helpful resources, and provided health screenings, including blood pressure and lipid checks.

What impressed me most was the spirit behind the work. People came ready to lift boxes, welcome families, share information, and serve with kindness. That is how trust is built and how a community grows stronger.

Thank you to RCCG House on the Rock, every volunteer, every participating organization, and every family that joined us. Grand Prairie is filled with people who care deeply about one another.

Freedom tastes even sweeter when it's shared. 🇺🇸
Recently, our community showed up BIG for the 24th Annual Freedom Luncheon. Wow, what a room full of longtime supporters, new friends, city leaders and community enthusiasts like me who believe every family deserves a lifeline. ❤️🤍💙

From the silent auction bidding wars to the stories that reminded attendees of the purpose of the gathering, the energy was unmatched. Every paddle raised and every dollar bid goes straight to work strengthening families right here in the city of Grand Prairie.

Grateful for the opportunity to spend time with fellow Rotarians recently at the RYLA camp in Midlothian where we fed the campers. Whether it’s sharing a meal, lending a hand, or simply showing up, these moments remind me that real blessings come by being a blessing.

I’m proud to be part of a community where people come together, serve with purpose, and support one another. Leadership isn’t always about being in front. Sometimes it’s about being present, involved, and committed to making things better.

The Rotary International Youth Leadership Award (a one week leadership camp for 12 graders sponsored by Rotary Clubs), holds a special place in my heart as I was a camper myself some 38 years ago.

I had the privilege of attending the State of the City last week and I left fired up and full of hope for where we're headed. 🔥
The growth. The investment. The vision for our future. It's all happening right here, right now.
As a community leader, moments like this remind me WHY I show up every single day for the people of Grand Prairie. 💪
The best is absolutely yet to come for this great city. Let's GO! 🌟

Looking back at the past year, I am reminded of the importance of the people in my life. In the family, the work place, the church and various service and professional organizations to which I belong, the impact of the people I interacted with and was privileged to lead was such a blessing.

As we move toward 2026, my focus hasn't changed: strengthening families, bringing people together, leading with faith, and investing in the next generation. We move forward best when we move forward together and I'm committed to continuing the work that truly matters.
