I feel so proud of the Second Ward as there has been a nearly 7% increase in August voter turnout since my election in 2022. Voter registration in the Second Ward alone has increased by 3,000 dedicated neighbors.

If you want to be part of this movement and elevation of civic responsibility, please join my team over the next several months as we continue to hit the pavement, meet new neighbors and say hello to friends. We are meeting THIS SATURDAY starting at 11am - email, direct message, or text me for meeting location!

FRIENDS!! 🗳️🇺🇸 It’s Primary Election Day in Michigan. All polls are open until 8pm - as you know, I am not on this ballot but so many wonderful candidates are and this outcome will determine your options in November. Please think critically, research policy stances and exercise your constitutional right to vote.

Still unsure about your voter status or polling location? Check mi.gov/vote for great information.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly on here if you have any major questions or concerns today, we can figure it out together.

It's Election Day! Polls are open statewide from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

If you still need to register, you can do so in your clerk’s office with proof of residency until 8 p.m. and vote.

"I'm reminded of why we do this work. In the halls of local government, I've learned one fundamental truth. True change doesn't trickle down, it bubbles up from the people who care...the people who listen...and the people who have the COURAGE to speak truth to power."

It was an absolute honor and distinguished privilege to join THOUSANDS of our neighbors this weekend to speak at "The People v. The Powerful," an event supporting real change in our local, state, and federal governments.

What the voters in my ward want is clear: less money in politics, no special interests influencing decisions, and real courage from local leaders to support our most vulnerable.

Proud to be doing this work as your Second Ward Commissioner.

The Grand Rapids City Commission, along with Mayor David LaGrand, proclaimed July 2026 as Disability Pride Month to honor the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act and celebrate the achievements and experiences of people with disabilities.

The proclamation highlights the importance of equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging for all residents and reaffirms the city’s commitment to supporting community members with diverse abilities.

💚 I was so honored to speak at the ribbon cutting for AYA Youth Collective as they opened the Jefferson House. I love this work, especially since I've spent most of my career working with our youth and unhoused individuals that need resources the most. Watch the ribbon cutting below.
