Kent ISD provides services to twenty local public districts and to all non-public schools within its boundaries. Directly or indirectly, we serve almost 400 schools, more than 120,000 students and 7,000 educators. One of 57 ISD's in Michigan, Kent ISD provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of the educators, families, and communities we serve.

In honor of his sister Katelin, who was a student at Lincoln Developmental Center, Sam Cassidy donated two benches that he and other Boy Scouts built as part of their Eagle Scout Project.

Katelin attended LDC three years ago, and Sam wanted to honor her by giving back to a school that his family said brought her so much joy.

“She learned how to walk, loved to say hi and wave. This place brought her a lot of joy, including the staff. It was an awesome opportunity for her to learn and grow.”

Congratulations to Kirsten Myers, our Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, on being named the recipient of the Marvin Beekman Award!

This lifetime achievement award is the highest honor awarded by the Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education (MAASE) and is given to individuals who "push boundaries, challenge norms, and relentlessly advocate for students with disabilities." The award celebrates visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and transformative impact in the field of special education.

Colleagues who nominated Kristen describe her as "intensely driven, remarkably efficient, and capable of moving complex, high-impact initiatives forward with speed, precision, and deep intentionality. Yet, amid all of this visionary work, she remains profoundly human and deeply collaborative".
