Volunteer in Our Kitchen!

We’re looking for a kitchen volunteer to help prepare meals for our Home Delivered Meals program!

📅 Tuesdays and Wednesdays
⏰ 1:00–3:00 PM
📍 Kent County Community Action, 121 MLK Jr. St SE, GR
You’ll help fill and seal meal trays that are delivered to older adults in our community. No cooking experience is needed—just a willingness to lend a hand!

Their team rolled up their sleeves to help pack food boxes for our Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), ensuring local older adults receive nutritious food each month. We’re grateful to have served more than 500 Kent County families during our Community Action free food distribution on July 9!

Helping residents access healthy food and easing the burden of rising grocery costs is an important part of serving our community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible.

A special thank you to our new partner, Kids' Food Basket, for collaborating with us to bring more fresh produce to the residents we serve and for helping provide 400 bundles of fresh greens!

🏡 Helping Kent County Seniors Stay Safe at Home

We are excited to launch this new collaboration with the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan through the HOME Renewal for Seniors Program!

Strong partnerships allow us to better serve our community, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work together to help older adults in Kent County access the home repairs and modifications they need to remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their homes.

Thank you to the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan for partnering with us to make this program possible. We look forward to the positive impact we'll make together!

We know that housing maintenance and repairs can often be a burden for seniors, which is why we're happy to announce that we're working alongside Kent County Community Action to expand access to home repairs and modifications for older adults in Kent County through the HOME Renewal for Seniors Program.
