Critical medical care should not be restricted by physical location, ability to pay or insurance status. A healthy body is a precious, priceless gift. To those with very little, the gift of health is even more valuable. It is incredibly hard to be poor and sick. It is even harder to powerlessly watch your child suffer from sickness. There is very little hope in that situation. Healing the Children
is an organization that approaches these parents and their children to say, “We are here to empower you and heal your child”. Donors, doctors, host families, volunteers are all vessels of hope to the parents who dared to dream of a healthy life for their child. In the past 21 years, Healing the Children has provided over 12,000 kids with access to medical care and sent 104 medical teams abroad. The teams donate their expertise and transform the lives of many kids each trip. Children that require more complex medical attention are sent to our medical inbound program. This program relies on the charity of airlines, hospitals, doctors and host families who are willing to donate their services. In realizing the dreams of these children, we begin to realize our own.
