Our final night of Storytime in the Park 2026 is complete!!! What an amazing summer full of memories we’ve had together at Garfield Park 😊

Tuesday was our Back-to-school kick off, where we celebrated the end of the summer with lots of fun!
- Field games and kids activities zone with the help of GVSU’s Real Estate Club
- Storytime and singing by Rachel of Opera Grand Rapids
- Kids book distribution
- Delicious ice cream from Heights Cream
- Storytime T-shirt sales
- And most importantly the community coming together 🫶

We are so grateful for all of the support from our volunteers, sponsors, and families that make Storytime in the Park Garfield possible each summer. We wouldn’t be able to do it without all of you! Until next year!!

Tomorrow is our LAST night of Storytime in the Park 2026! 🍦📚 Join us for our back-to-school kick off, where we'll be celebrating the end of summer with lots of fun activities and games for the kids.

We'd also love for everyone to wear their tie-dye shirt from week 1 to celebrate the end of the summer!

Keep an eye out for the weekly sign-in form that will be posted later this evening.

We had a very special guest visit us at Storytime in the Park last evening… Thank you Governor Gretchen Whitmer for stopping by Garfield Park to show your support and read for our community! 🫶📚

Yesterday we had tons of fun:
- Listening to K-Rock’s amazing band performance
- Learning about plants and the environment with John Ball Zoo’s Habitat Hero
- Hanging out with the therapy dogs
- Riding on unicycles
- Practicing soccer skills with Soccer Shots
- Eating delicious ice cream from Heights Cream
- Storytime with 13 On Your Side and the Grand Rapids Public Library
- And last but not least, book distribution for all of the kiddos!

Next week will be our FINAL week of Stoytime in the Park Garfield 2026 so make sure to keep a look out for what we have planned!!🔥
