Official Statement from the Mayor/Board of Trustees of Grand Ridge:

To assist Village residents affected by yesterday’s torrential rains, the Village is arranging for delivery of dumpsters to the corner of Railroad Ave and Liberty Ave to be used by residents for disposing of storm-damaged items. The Village urges residents who suffered storm damage to contact their insurance companies and to document losses to support their insurance claims. In most cases, water entering through basement walls, windows, sump pumps, gutters, or private service lines is a private property issue, not a Village storm drainage infrastructure issue. Residents are encouraged to report to the Village clogged storm drains, debris, and other issues that could contribute to future flooding or may pose a threat to public safety. Please call Village Hall at 815-249-6462 or send an email to [email protected] to make a report.
Unfortunately scammers and con artists often appear after these types of events offering to help with claims or repairs. If you have any suspicions about such an individual, please contact Village Hall of the Police Department’s non-emergency number, 815-257-0989.

The village will be placing dumpsters at the corner of Liberty and Railroad (same location as the clean-up day dumpsters) to assist residents with basement clean-up efforts after yesterday's unprecedented flooding.

These dumpsters will be placed as early as this afternoon.

Please follow all the same rules as clean-up days (see flyer below) in regards to items that cannot be placed in the dumpsters.
