Community Update:
This morning, CTGR Tribal Police responded alongside CTGR Fire to an incident at Spirit Mountain Casino initially reported as a possible gas leak. After investigation, it was determined that bear spray was accidentally discharged inside the facility.

One individual was transported for minor effects, and others were evaluated and released on scene. There is no ongoing danger to the public or the casino.

We appreciate the quick and coordinated response from our local fire partners, including CTGR Fire, Sheridan Fire District, and SW Polk Fire.

Thank you to community members and casino staff for their cooperation and calm response during this incident.

🔥 What a fantastic day at Forge Fest NW! 🔥
The Grand Ronde Police Department was proud to join this incredible community event in support of Industrial Artistic and Creative Therapy (I.A.C.T.), a nonprofit that uses blacksmithing, woodworking, and leatherwork to provide veterans and first responders with meaningful outlets, mentorship opportunities, and long-term goals.
And we’re excited to share a little friendly brag… 🏆 Officer Hamlin took home the top spot in the law enforcement forging competition! We had a great time competing alongside our partners from across the valley, and we’re already looking forward to defending the title next year. 💪
I.A.C.T. began as a simple weekly workshop where veterans could “blow off steam” by learning knifemaking. Today, it has grown into a nonprofit that supports veterans, first responders, and at-risk youth, forging not just steel but resilience, creativity, and community.
A huge thank-you to Acres of Hope Youth Ranch for hosting, the event sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came out to support. And a special shout-out to Josh Navarrete for his vision and dedication to making a difference for those who serve.

🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️ Pump Track Grand Opening 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

This past weekend, Grand Ronde Police Officers Hamlin and Trombla had the privilege of joining the community at the Pump Track Grand Opening in Oaken Hills Memorial Park.

As part of our commitment to youth safety, our officers handed out over 50 bicycle helmets to local kids. These helmets will not only help ensure that riders can safely enjoy the new track, but also provide protection for everyday biking and riding around the community.

We want to give a big thank you to our community for showing up, supporting the event, and making it such a success. Your participation and encouragement make all the difference!
