🚑 Did you know?

Our department provides fire and first responder coverage to parts of Muscatine County, working alongside Louisa County Ambulance. At times, Wapello EMS is also called in to assist to ensure our community receives timely emergency care.

If you live in Muscatine County, we strongly encourage you to speak up and support local EMS services. Without proper funding and staffing, ambulance response times may increase and services could be limited.

In Iowa, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are not considered an essential service. When you call 911, police or fire response is guaranteed—but an ambulance is not.

Our EMS professionals have done an outstanding job serving our community, but many departments are facing serious financial and staffing challenges.

Please support and advocate for your local EMS. Your voice could help save a life. ❤️

Did you know that Emergency Medical Services is not essential in Iowa?
If you call 911, you are guaranteed a response from the Police or Fire department, but not an ambulance.
Our County EMS folks have done a phenomenal job staffing and responding, but some are headed into a financial and staffing bind.

LET'S CHANGE THAT, it just might save a life.
