Course Improvements Coming
We are in the process of looking for a new golf course superintendent and getting the course in great
shape for 2026. We are looking for someone with strong management skills and hopefully an extensive background in irrigation which is one of our biggest challenges.
There are a few things that we will be working on throughout the offseason such as the irrigation leak on number three, it is a main line break and will take an extended amount of time to fix, with the heat this summer, we did not want to risk having the system off for a long period. The bridge on 14 will be redone by an outside company and they have fallen behind on their current project but we are supposed to be next on the list. The tee boxes will close soon and several will be reseeded, this means they can absolutley not be used. The fence along Fir Road will also be redone in the spring. Plus other projects that are not as exciting such as tree trimming and cart path repair.
We are looking at getting some new maintenance equipment as well which will help keep things in shape throughout the season. We really struggled with getting mowers and equipment back from the repair shop this summer as they had trouble getting parts, one of the rough mowers spent about 10 weeks in Indy and our blower has been there for 5 weeks. It has been frustrating to say the least on our end as our goal is always to have the course in excellent condition.
