From the Granger Lake Corps of Engineers:
The Corps will begin opening the dam at Granger Lake this morning. This will be a gradual process to include an additional 6-inches opening every 30-minutes. What it means is a gradual release of water, which could cause some minor issues for the San Gabriel. By using a gradual release, the Corps is hoping to avoid major flooding issues. Please monitor your water levels in that area. The Corps advises do not be alarmed, as the gradual release should avoid major problems.

Our thoughts and prayers continue for Georgetown Fire Department and the Lentz family.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our brother, Kurt Lentz on April 11, 2025. Kurt was and remains a symbol of strength within our Fire Department and community. As a close-knit fire family, we are struggling through this loss. During the coming days and weeks, we are focusing our hearts, prayers, and support to Kurt’s wife, son, and family. We are asking you to honor the family’s privacy during this challenging time.

Kurt was proud to serve the City of Georgetown, and we are equally proud to honor his life and service.

On behalf of the family, we sincerely thank you for your continued love, prayers, and support. All are warmly invited to attend as we come together to honor and celebrate Kurt’s life. Flowers may be sent to the Celebration of Life service.
