Granger Days is almost here, and so are the Water Fights!

📍 Sycamore & State Street

💦 12:00–1:00 PM — Open to the Public
Kids 15 and under can come out and take a turn spraying the fire hose!

🚒 1:00–3:00 PM — Water Fight Tournament
• Ages 16+
• 3-person coed teams
• $25 buy-in per team
• 16 teams maximum
• Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
• Local celebrity judge Jim Kenkel

🚒🔥 Granger Fire & EMS at the Iowa State Fair! 🚒🎡

Members of Granger Fire & EMS & Granger Public Safety Auxiliary had the opportunity to volunteer at the Iowa Hall of Flame during the Iowa State Fair!

Our crew spent Monday & Wednesday evening visiting with fairgoers, representing our department, and helping support a display that celebrates Iowa’s fire service—its history, traditions, equipment, and the firefighters who have served communities across our state.

A big thank you to the Iowa Firefighters Association’s Iowa Hall of Flame for having us and to the members who volunteered their time. We’re proud to represent our department and our community alongside firefighters from across Iowa.

August is Overdose Awareness Month 💜

Throughout August, Granger Fire & EMS joins communities across Iowa and the nation in recognizing Overdose Awareness Month.

This month is dedicated to remembering those we’ve lost, supporting the families and friends impacted by overdose, reducing stigma, and promoting education, prevention, and recovery.

Substance use disorder can affect anyone. By increasing awareness, encouraging conversations, and connecting people with resources, we can help save lives and strengthen our community.

Together, let’s choose compassion over judgment, hope over stigma, and support those on the path to recovery.
