SECOND update!!!

Hey Granger, Ofc. Galindo here to share more exciting news!
Everyone please give a warm welcome to our new full-timer: Officer Orlando Rodriguez.
Ofc. Rodriguez comes from The Bronx, New York City. His amazing 17 year career in law enforcement is from time spent with Katy ISD PD, and Austin ISD PD.
We are excited to have him here, to get him trained, and on the street asap! Our new lion partner insisted on taking Ofc. Rodriguez on a city tour. 😂🦁
If you see Ofc. Rodriguez around town, be sure to stop and say hello! 💜💛

OMG Granger!! Officer Galindo here with not one, but TWO, very exciting updates.
You may have seen some previous posts during Lakefest when I tasked y'all with getting the BEST stuffed animal to display in the patrol car.
Well, our very own Granger City Clerk/Receptionist, Tom Hodapp was happy to take on the challenge!
Everyone I'd like to you to meet the newest addition to Granger PD, Leo the Lion. He's very eager to patrol the streets and keep y'all safe. He may have been a big city lion in the past, but he's ready to embrace to relaxing country life that Granger brings. (Sorry Chief, I stole your hat 😬😅)
Be on the look out for Leo when you see our patrol cars going around town.

Stay tuned for my SECOND update very soon!

The situation from Bird Street yesterday has been resolved. It appears it was a misunderstanding and not a theft, but thanks to everyone who responded so quickly.

Hey Granger, from our family to yours we want to wish y'all a very Happy Mother's Day.
This one is for you moms who run on caffeine, chaos, and pure determination while keeping everyone alive on 3 hours of sleep. We see you and we appreciate you!
Thank you for being the real first responders at home every single day. We hope today brings you a little extra peace, love... And maybe a hot cup of coffee for once. ♥️💐

Hey Granger! Lakefest day #2, Officer Galindo here! Everyone is looking good out there, can’t wait for the dance party later.
I found these other two officers and forced them to take a selfie with me. If we’re lucky maybe we’ll get them out there dancin’ too. If you see Officer Mar or Officer Grisham say hello!
Before we all bust a move though, please please please hydrate! It’s hot 🥵 heat exhaustion is no joke.
PS: still searching for the perfect stuffed animal to display in the patrol truck!

Stay safe yall! ❤️❤️❤️

Hey Granger, Officer Galindo here! Happy Lakefest!!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful time.
It appears we have a lot of pedestrian traffic coming across SH-95, primarily at Davilla St. The PD will assist with crossing when we can, however we do not have anyone constantly stationed there. Use CAUTION if walking across, and vehicle traffic please slow down and look twice.
Alright, someone win a stuffed animal at the carnival for me! I’ll display it in the patrol truck. 😂😁❤️

There have been several instances involving e-bikes and scooters in the city. Several citizens have reported near-miss collisions with these vehicles. To help the public understand the current laws regarding e-bikes, I have attached the Texas law.

We met with the families of the children who operate the e-bikes on city streets a few weeks ago. We explained the laws that apply to them and their responsibilities.

The flyer was sent to the schools a few weeks ago, as they are experiencing the same problem and want to keep children safe on school property.

We are not alone; several cities in the area are experiencing the same issue. Through a combined effort, we plan to continue to make the streets safer for the motorists and the children operating e-bikes.

The Police Department will enforce the traffic violations they observe. However, you must understand that these are Class C Misdemeanors, so, according to the law, we cannot issue citations or warnings for infractions we have not personally observed.

Hello lovebirds of Granger! Officer Galindo here with a few reminders to keep your Valentine's Day romantic, not reportable.

✔️Make Love. ❌Not noise complaints.
❣️If your neighbors can hear Barry White from a block over... You need to turn it down. 🎶🎵

✔️Hit up the dance floor at the Cotton Country Club with Craig Howell. ❌ Don't hit your significant other!
❣️Love can hurt sometimes, but it shouldn't hurt like that. 💢

✔️Text compliments and words of affirmation. ❌Don't text unsolicited photos.
❣️Yeah. Those. It's totally lame. They didn't ask for it, don't send it. That goes for both photos and surprise visits at 2am. 🙄📱📷

✔️ Enjoy a nice glass of wine. ❌Don't drink and drive.
❣️If your date festivities include alcohol, plan a sober ride home. Cupid will not post your bail! 🏹

♥️Love is in the air, and I'm out on the streets tonight. Keep it sweet, safe, and legal out there. There's nothing less romantic to me than paperwork y'all...
Happy Valentine's Day! ♥️

The thin blue line loses another officer. Rest in Peace, my Brother.

Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle. He is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, and in whom I take refuge. (Psalm 144:1-2)

Granger, please pray for the family of this fallen officer.
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." Psalms 23:4
