🔹UPDATE 08/21/2025 - Granger and Toppen*sh Homicides, Two Victims, One Suspect
An autopsy was conducted, and the victim was identified as 51-year-old Miguel Angel Cruz-Cid from Granger. The suspect was arrested in Walla Walla County after crashing a vehicle during a pursuit with the Washington State Patrol. Evidence indicates that the suspect committed the homicides in Granger and Toppen*sh. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.🔹
A man was stabbed in Granger, resulting in a homicide.
Granger - On August 13th, 2025, around 11 pm, the Granger Police Department responded to a welfare check call in the 200 block of East A Street within the city limits of Granger. Responding officers found a deceased male who appeared to have been stabbed multiple times. The Granger Police Department requested we investigate their homicide case.
The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division processed and documented the crime scene. At this time, we have not been able to notify the next of kin. On the same day, within a few hours, Toppen*sh Police also reported a homicide in their city. Investigators from both agencies are collaborating to determine if these two incidents are connected. Both homicide investigations are ongoing, and more information will be released after official notifications are made and as it becomes available.
