We’re in the home stretch! 🚧

The Granite City Street Department is working on the final roads of this summer’s paving schedule. O’Hare and Terminal will be finished up this week, bringing this summer’s total to 17 streets completed!

Thank you to everyone for your patience while crews have been out working, roads have been closed, and schedules have shifted along the way. We appreciate you giving our crews the time and space they need to get the job done safely.

Once the streets are wrapped up, the work isn’t over. Sidewalk improvements are up next!

The Granite City Splash Pad is a great example of what can happen when our community works together! The City of Granite City and the Granite City Park District partnered to create this new space for local children and families. Thank you to our state and local officials who helped bring this project to life!

🚧 Granite City Road Work Update 🚧

Road improvements continue this week! Crews paved the 2600 block of State Street on Monday and will begin paving 27th Street from State Street to Madison Avenue on Wednesday, July 22.

Road Closure:

• 27th Street from State Street to Madison Avenue will be closed Wednesday while crews are working. Please plan to use an alternate route.

Completed streets:

• Jefferson Street between West 22nd Street and Denver Street
• 2200 block of Nevada Avenue
• 26th Place
• 29th Place
• 27th Street on both sides of the park
• 2400 block of Benton Street
• 2600 block of State Street

Please use caution near work zones and thank you for your patience as these improvements continue throughout Granite City!
