Following our training burn earlier this morning at the old Legion Hall located at S. Granite Ave and Union Street, you will likely continue to see small flames, smoke, or glowing hot spots at the site over the next day or two. This is expected as crews continue to monitor the area.

Please do not call 911 about these conditions unless you observe a new emergency or something outside the burn site.

Training Burn Notice – Granite Falls Fire Department

Today the Granite Falls Fire Department will be conducting a live training burn in downtown Granite Falls. Residents may notice a significant amount of smoke in the area during this time.

This is a planned training evolution that allows our firefighters to train in realistic conditions and maintain the skills needed to serve our community safely and effectively.

Road closures in the area have been posted by the City of Granite Falls. For the safety of the public and our personnel, we ask that community members please keep their distance from the training site so crews can safely complete the operation and meet training objectives.

We appreciate the community’s patience and support while we conduct this important training.
