Anyone in Grant City that has yet to fill out your Census please do! Thank you

All of our counties are still moving the needle, but progress is slow for the entire region. Gentry County had the biggest increase in response rate, in our region, over the last week.

Good job to our friends in Gentry County!!!

Please share and encourage your friends and family to take time to fill out the census. Census numbers not only help with funding to our region, but are also used to ensure representation in Congress.

Fill the census out online a my2020census.gov or by phone at 1-844-330-2020!

City of Grant City Re-Opening Recommendations May 4th, 2020:

The City of Grant City is supporting the Governor’s recommendations for re-opening non-essential businesses beginning May 4th. We recommend our businesses practice safe hygiene and sanitize between customers. Please be respectful to business owners and their employees as they are doing their best to protect you!

Below are our recommendations to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus. We ask that you respect others and follow the guidelines and recommendations. You are not only putting yourself at risk but everyone in the community by not cooperating.

* If you feel sick, please stay home!! Call your physician for advice and counseling

* If you are elderly or at risk, please take extra precautions

* Please follow individual businesses recommendations, if they ask that you set up an appointment, please do so.

* We encourage you to wear a mask if going out into the public

* We recommend carrying sanitizer and wipes with you to use when out in public. You never know who has been there before you. Better to be safe, than sorry!

* We highly encourage our citizens to adhere to the 6 foot social distancing

* Wash your hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds each time

* Avoid socializing in groups that do not readily allow for appropriate social distancing until May 18th, 2020 at which time gatherings can start at 50 people or less

* We encourage all businesses to take precautions and ask that your employees follow guidelines for sanitizing and wearing protective equipment when serving the public

* Please call City Hall for an appointment if you need something that cannot be handled by phone. The number is 660-565-3369. We ask that you continue to use the drive thru to pay bills or mail them to the City of Grant City, PO Box 398; Grant City, MO 64456.

* The license office will be open by appointment only. You can call 660-564-3719 for an appointment or go to the drive thru to be added to a list. We will take your name and phone number and give you a call when we are ready for you. We will be sanitizing between visits so please be patient.

All in Grant City who have yet to fill out your Census for 2020 please do and turn it in or go online. This will not just help the census bureau put but could help out the city for funding and grants.

The counties in our region are sitting in the 41%-55% range as far as the census response rates go. Atchison County is the only one with a response rate higher than Missouri's overall response rate.

For those who still need to complete the census, you can do it in approximately five minutes at www.my2020census.gov or you can call 1-844-330-2020. #BeCounted
