It's time for another spotlight. I would like to introduce Firefighter Bob Meffert. He has been on the department for 25 years. Anything asked of him, and he will do it. He also has a son and grandson on the department.

Outside of the department, he enjoys Woodworking. Many might recognize him from his time with Country Companies.

It's time for another spotlight. Here is firefighter Tyler Jansen. He stepped into the training officer role for a while when needed and now heads the building committee.

Outside of the department, he works construction and helps home school his twin boys along with his wife.

As we are all aware of the incoming weather, we are not sure of timing or amounts, but we would like to make sure everyone is prepared. If you do not need to be out while the snow comes in, please stay bundled up at home. If you do need to go out, take your time and plan for the commute to be longer.

A few tips for you. Open cabinets that have water lines in them so the heat from your property can get to it. Keep an eye on your furnace exhaust that it does not get blocked by anything. If you are driving, pack a blanket and some snacks just in case. Fill your vehicle up to make sure it can keep running for heat if you do get stuck.

If you have to be out today or tonight, please plan for extra time and drive with caution. If you don't have to be out, please stay in and let the road crews be able to treat the roads as needed.

It's time for another spotlight. Meet firefighter CJ Frank. He has been on the department for a while and was promoted to a Captain last year.

Outside of the department, Cj enjoys side by side riding. He also is in many leagues such as bocce, pool, and wahers.

Please be safe and take extra precautions this weekend. If you do need to go out, make sure to give yourself plenty of time to arrive. Another tip is to locate your furnace exhaust and be sure to keep an eye on it that it does not get buried.

Reminder we will be driving Santa around Saturday starting between 9:45 & 10. Listen for the sirens as we enter each subdivision. We will travel the following route.

Cedar Springs
Oak & Maple Streets
Fenton Farm
Last around the village
End with dropping Santa off at the village hall.
