Stress is a part of life, but staying in a constant state of stress doesn't have to be. During National Wellness Month, take a moment to check in with yourself.

🦋 Pause and take five slow, deep breaths
🦋 Step away from your screen for a few minutes
🦋 Write down your top three priorities instead of trying to do everything at once
🦋 Take a short walk to reset your mind

Managing stress isn't about eliminating challenges - it's about creating healthy ways to respond to them. Even a five-minute reset can make a difference.

August is National Wellness Month - a reminder that caring for yourself isn't a luxury, it's a part of staying healthy.

Self-care doesn't have to be elaborate. Start with small, consistent habits.
💧 Drink enough water
🌼 Get outside for fresh air
🚶‍♀️‍➡️ Move your body in a way that feels good
🥗 Eat nourishing meals
🛌 Give yourself permission to rest

Small choices made consistently can have a big impact on your overall well-being. This month, choose one simple habit to prioritize and build from there.

Now that summer is in full swing, many families are adjusting to new routines - or no routine at all. While the slower pace can be refreshing, changes in routine can also be challenging for children and teens.

Parents and caregivers can help by:

☀️ Keeping regular bedtimes and wake-up times
☀️ Creating a simple daily routine with a balance of activities and downtime
☀️ Checking in regularly about how your child is feeling
☀️ Encouraging time outdoors, physical activity, and opportunities to connect with friends
☀️ Being patient - adjusting to change looks different for every child

A little structure and connection can go a long way in helping children and teens feel secure, supported, and ready to enjoy their summer.

A big thank you to KLCC and reporter Nathan Wilk for highlighting the opening of our new Kairos Lane Services outpatient mental health clinic in Eugene! We're proud to be expanding access to therapy, psychiatric care, youth peer support, and family services for children, youth, young adults, and their families across Lane County.

We're also looking forward to completing Phase Two of the renovation this fall and celebrating with a Grand Opening Community Event, where we'll welcome the community to tour the clinic, meet our team, and learn more about the services available. A special thank you to our Board President Jennifer Lewis, board member Rodger Deevers, Executive Director Jeremy Harle, MA, MFT, LPC, and Outpatient Services Director Sarah Hollingworth for joining us to welcome our community partners and for the meaningful conversations about how Kairos is helping address the growing mental health needs of youth and young adults in Lane County.

This new clinic is a game changer, and we're excited about the difference it will make for the children, families, and young adults we serve.
