We had the honor of supporting Anita Earls by showing up at a campaign event earlier right here in New Bern. It’s a strong reminder that the future of our courts is not something that happens somewhere else. It happens here, with us.

This election will shape how justice shows up in everyday life across North Carolina. It is about fair courts, protecting voting rights, defending public education, and making sure the law works the same for everyone, not just a select few.

Justice Earls brings a steady hand, sharp mind, and a deep belief that our legal system should be fair, transparent, and accountable. She understands that trust in our courts is earned, and she has shown up time and again ready to do that work.

We are proud to stand with her and be part of the kind of momentum that reminds people their voice and their vote matters.

Thank you to everyone who cast a ballot in this primary election. In a time when the headlines feel heavy and the noise on our screens never seems to stop, choosing to vote is a powerful act. It says that even in uncertainty, we still believe in shaping what comes next.

We know the challenges facing our communities, locally and across the country are real. But so is our resolve. Your vote is not small. It is not lost. It is how change begins.

Thank you for showing up, thank you for caring, and thank you for making a difference and having your voice heard.

Stay tuned as we will be adding more events and ways you can be involved with Craven County Young Dems, Craven Dems, and all but more on that soon⏰

The public ex*****on of Alex Pretti is a devastating loss of life and a moment that demands reflection. Beyond the grief felt by his loved ones, this tragedy underscores a deeper crisis: a growing erosion of accountability, restraint, and trust in the institutions meant to protect the public.

Law enforcement and immigration officers are entrusted with extraordinary authority, and with that authority comes an obligation to act lawfully, transparently, and in coordination with state and local partners. When agents operate without clear identification, oversight, or respect for community safety, the result is not security it is fear, chaos, and irreversible harm.

What we are witnessing in Minnesota should alarm Americans of every political stripe. Escalation without accountability and public narratives offered before serious investigation only deepen divisions and deny justice to those who have lost their lives. This path dishonors both the rule of law and the values we claim to uphold.

Alex Pretti’s murder must be a turning point. It calls for immediate accountability. That means full and transparent investigations, clear identification of those exercising authority, and consequences when power is abused. And it reminds us that a healthy democracy depends not on silence, but on citizens willing to speak out peacefully, defend basic freedoms agaist injustice, and insist that no one, government included, is above the law.

🕯️ Candlelight Vigil for Renee Nicole Good 🕯️

Join us this Sunday as we gather in community and compassion to remember the life of Renee Nicole Good, a beloved mother, partner, friend, and acclaimed poet whose life was senselessly taken on January 7th by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis.

In times of sorrow, we come together not only to mourn, but to inspire one another with hope, unity, and peace. Let this vigil be a moment of reflection and strength as we hold Renee and her family in our hearts. ❤️

📅 Date: Sunday 1/11
🕯️ Time: 6-7pm
📍 Location: Craven County Courthouse
