Recently, firefighters from the Grantsville City Fire Department and Tooele City Fire Department came together to cook lunch for the Burn Camp Nah Nah Mah campers from the University of Utah Burn Center.

A huge THANK YOU to our friends at the Tooele City Fire Department for having us this year. This has been a long-standing tradition for the Grantsville City Fire Department, and we’re honored to continue supporting such an incredible cause.

It is always a privilege to serve lunch to these amazing kids, teens, and counselors. Their strength, resilience, and smiles are truly inspiring.

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of your week. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again next year!

🚨 Personal Fireworks Remain Banned in Grantsville City

Due to continued dry conditions and high fire danger, personal fireworks are prohibited within city limits during the Pioneer Day holiday period, July 22–25.

Please celebrate safely and responsibly without personal fireworks. Thank you for helping protect our residents, firefighters, property, and community.

Today at approximately 5:36 PM, the Grantsville City Fire Department and the North Tooele Fire Protection Service District were dispatched by Tooele County Dispatch to a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, Grantsville City Fire crews found smoke coming from the exterior of the structure. North Tooele Fire and Grantsville City Fire immediately initiated fire suppression operations. Firefighters from the North Tooele Fire Protection Service District made an interior attack to locate and extinguish the fire, while Grantsville City Fire Department Firefighters began to established a water supply, deploying approximately 950 feet of Large Diameter Hose(LDH) from the nearest hydrant to the scene. Grantsville City Fire crews also performed vertical ventilation to improve conditions inside the structure and assist with fire suppression checking for extension in the attic.

Thanks to the quick and coordinated efforts of the units on scene, the fire was brought under control rapidly. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

We hope everyone had a safe and memorable Independence Day as we celebrated 250 years of America’s Independence. We’re proud to serve this incredible community.

The Grantsville City Fire Department stand alongside the wildland fire community in mourning the tragic loss of three firefighters who gave their lives while protecting others during the fires near the Colorado–Utah border.

We honor their unwavering commitment, bravery, and sacrifice in the line of duty. Our thoughts and prayers are also with the firefighters who were injured, and we wish them a safe and speedy recovery.

To the families, friends, and fellow firefighters affected by this tragedy, please know you have our heartfelt support. Their legacy of service and sacrifice will always be remembered

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service is devastated to share that three wildland firefighters lost their lives on Saturday, June 27, as part of an interagency response to the Knowles and Gore fires along the Colorado-Utah border. Additionally, two crew members were injured in the line of duty and have been transported to a hospital.

Our immediate focus is on supporting their families, friends, and fellow crewmates during this incredibly difficult time.

The U.S. Wildland Fire Service stands united with the USDA Forest Service in grief and in our unwavering support for the loved ones left behind. Their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

These temporary restrictions are in place to reduce the risk of wildfire and help protect our residents, first responders, homes, businesses, and surrounding wildland areas during this period of extreme fire danger.

While personal fireworks are banned at this time, we encourage everyone to celebrate Independence Day by attending a professionally managed fireworks display.
