3rd Granville Volunteer Fire & Rescue 5k/walk

Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to cancel our 5K to benefit our Granville Volunteer Fire Department. Instead we will have a Silent Auction during the Granville Fall Festival on October 4th with beautiful prizes. Proceeds again will go towards our Fire Department.

This decision was just made and in the next few days we will have our website and this page updated with information about the Silent Auction as we get it.

We are very sorry for those that were planning to attend again and wishing all a great running season once this heat is over.

We are in the process of posting flyers and looking for sponsors for this year's 5K to benefit our Granville Volunteer Fire Department. We changed the name of this event to make sure that runners know that their signup fee is going towards desperately needed equipment and gear for our volunteers to have the tools to help and protect themselves.

Granville Volunteer Fire & Rescue 5k and Walk
Date: October 11th, 9:00 AM
Location: Downtown Granville, TN – Clover Street (in front of the famous Sutton Store)
We’re excited to announce that we’ve renamed our event to Granville Volunteer Fire & Rescue 5k and Walk to emphasize the cause behind the race. As a vital part of our community, the Granville Volunteer Fire & Rescue depends on grants and donations to provide essential services. This 5k is a fun way to help us raise money for much-needed equipment, safety gear, training, and more!
The race will start and finish in downtown Granville, TN, on Clover Street, right in front of the iconic Sutton Store. The scenic course will take you along the lake and around the beautiful town of Granville.
Participants will receive race t-shirts, swag bags, trophies, and enjoy electronic timing with Best Personal Racing. It’s a great event for runners and walkers of all skill levels!
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Tennessee’s own Mayberry town and having a fun day for a great cause!

We really have a great Silent Auction happening the day of our 5k Race on October 12th here in Granville. We already talked about weekend stays at Wildwood Resort and the entertainment package in Gainesboro, horseback riding lessons along out Cordell Hull lake, as well as many more items for auction.

We were able to add one more big item that was donated by HILLER plumbing and heating - a Whole House Water Filtration which has a value of almost #3500.

Please feel free to share this post on your FB page or forward to your running friends. Last year was our first 5k and everything went without ANY hiccups. This year we have secured even more sponsors to make sure our 2nd annual 5k will be an even greater success.

All benefits will go to our Granville Volunteer Fire Department. We were able to buy a mini pumper to go to remote and difficult to access areas that our big engine could not get to. Now we have to refurbish it with gear for our volunteers to do their job safely.
