🚰This week, the City of Granville recognizes the workers who keep clean water flowing and wastewater moving safely.

💦August 23–29, 2026 is Water and Wastewater Workers of Iowa Week—a time set aside to honor professionals in the water and wastewater industry who are essential to the health, safety, and daily life of every community. They're often behind the scenes, but their work makes modern life possible:

• They protect public health by ensuring drinking water is safe and wastewater is properly treated.

• They keep essential services running for homes, businesses, schools and hospitals.

• They respond around the clock to leaks, equipment failures, severe weather, and other emergencies.

• And they’re trusted stewards of critical infrastructure, maintaining complex systems that most people rarely think about until something goes wrong.

To the water and wastewater workers who keep our communities running: thank you for the work you do, the challenges you face and the difference you make every day!

🐟 PLEASE DO NOT PUT FISH IN THE POND 🐟

The City of Granville is asking residents and visitors not to release or put outside fish into the public recreation pond.

We are currently experiencing fish dying in the pond from being brought in from outside water sources. Adding fish from outside sources can make the situation worse and create additional problems for the pond’s ecosystem and water quality.

The City has plans in place with the Iowa DNR to appropriately stock the pond with fish that are suitable for the pond and its environment. This will help ensure the fish have the best opportunity to survive, thrive, and maintain a healthy population.

Please do not release fish from other ponds, lakes, aquariums, or other sources into the pond. We ask everyone to let the City and DNR manage the stocking of the pond.

🚰 Hydrant Flushing Notice 🚰

The City of Granville will be flushing fire hydrants Wednesday, July 22 through Friday, July 24.

During this time, you may notice temporary drops in water pressure or slight discoloration of your water. This is normal and should clear by running your cold water for a few minutes.

Hydrant flushing is an important part of maintaining our water system and helps ensure clean, safe, and reliable water service for our community.

🦟 Mosquito Fogging Schedule Update 🦟

Triple C Pest Control will be conducting mosquito fogging on the following dates:

✅ Sunday, July 12 – Regular scheduled fogging after dark
✅ Thursday, July 16 – Additional fogging after dark

There will be NO mosquito fogging on Sunday, July 19.

Please remember to close windows and bring pets indoors if needed while fogging is taking place.
